Mastermind Meeting 12/10

This meeting's guest was Richard Long, VP of The Zimmerman Agency. Richard handles the marketing and promotion for the Okaloosa County TDC.

Highlights of the meeting include:

A major factor in stimulating our loca real estate market and economy in general is our ability to attract more visitors to vacation and buy real estate in our area. While there is no question that area embassadors Okaloosa County TDC, beaches of South Walton County, The Great Northwest are doing a great job in promoting the areas of Destin and South Walton County to the rest of the country, there still needs to more.

We [Destin Masterminds] are in the process of exploring additional avenues or partnerships between these groups and the Destin Real Estate Mastermind Group, it's business partners, and organizations such as realtors (ECAR) to highlight our area to even larger portions of the country that may not completely understand the hidden treasure that is the Emerald Coast.

Our next meeting will address how our group can affect the process. The meeting will be held Jan. 14, 2008.

Inside The Mortgage Market

I recently read an article about the mortgage industry that was not hyped with the usual "doom and gloom". The article cut through some of the media hype and really talked about some aspects of mortgages that made sense.

Here is a link to the article as it appeared on page 15 of Exquisite Homes:

Exquisite Homes of the Emerald Coast

Sue Botelho, from Northstar Mortgage, wrote the article, and I agreed with her when she commented that "Buying a house is not an inalienable right . . . it is a privilege . . .".

The other point in the article that was very positive is knowing that the mortgage industry is not dead, they are still financing real estate, and people are still buying homes, they are even doing 100% mortgages adn financing condos.

Take a look at the article to gain another insight from a professional who is still doing business in today's market.
